  • Communicate clearly and professionally with tenants, property owners, vendors, and internal staff

Organizational & Administrative Skills

  • Multitask across leasing, maintenance coordination, inspections, and administrative duties
  • Maintain accurate records, files, and documentation
  • Coordinate schedules, appointments, and follow-ups
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail in all tasks

Financial & Business Skills

  • Assist with budgeting and monitoring expenses
  • Support rent collection and follow up on delinquencies
  • Understand basic financial reports and property performance metrics
  • Coordinate cost-effective solutions with vendors and contractors
  • Contribute to occupancy goals and revenue optimization

Leasing & Sales Skills

  • Market available units through multiple channels
  • Conduct property tours and effectively showcase apartments
  • Screen applicants in accordance with company policies and compliance standards
  • Assist with lease preparation, renewals, and negotiations
  • Support tenant retention initiatives and resident satisfaction efforts

Maintenance & Operations Knowledge

  • Maintain a basic understanding of building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC)
  • Assist in coordinating preventive maintenance and service requests
  • Work with vendors and maintenance teams to ensure timely issue resolution
  • Support emergency response coordination when needed
  • Conduct property inspections and report findings

Legal & Compliance Knowledge

  • Understand and adhere to landlord-tenant laws and regulations
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing requirements
  • Assist with lease enforcement and documentation
  • Maintain awareness of eviction procedures and legal processes
  • Follow safety regulations and building code standards

Leadership & Management Skills

  • Support supervision and coordination of maintenance staff when needed
  • Demonstrate accountability and reliability in daily responsibilities
  • Exercise good judgment and decision-making under pressure
  • Assist with task delegation and team coordination

Technology Skills

  • Proficiency in property management software (e.g., Yardi, Rent Café)
  • Familiarity with online leasing platforms and digital applications
  • Strong written communication skills, including email and digital correspondence

Problem-Solving Abilities

  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and urgent issues
  • Prioritize competing demands in a dynamic environment
  • Negotiate solutions that balance tenant needs and business objectives
